The Parker Storylight Foundation collects and donates books to children in need — bringing the light of literacy to high-poverty, Title I schools across South Louisiana.
Who We Are
What began three years ago as two siblings, Sonja and John Parker, with a shared belief — that every child deserves access to books — has grown into the Parker Storylight Foundation. Officially incorporated as a nonprofit this year, our roots run deep in South Louisiana and in the communities we serve.
We focus on Title I schools: high-poverty, high-minority communities where books at home are a luxury many families can't afford. We collect gently loved and brand-new books and get them directly into the hands of the children who need them most.

What We Do
From book drives to community events, everything we do is designed to put the right book in the right child's hands — and spark a love of reading that lasts a lifetime.
We host drives and partner with donors to collect new and gently used books across South Louisiana — building our inventory one donation at a time.
We deliberately target high-poverty, high-minority Title I schools — the communities where access to books at home makes the biggest difference.
Our book distribution events are celebrations of reading — designed to be joyful, welcoming experiences for children and families alike.
Coming Up
We have two exciting events in May, bringing books to even more children across South Louisiana!
We're bringing books to the students of Pine View Middle School in St. Tammany Parish — putting a great book in every child's hands.
Our second May event takes us to Northshore Charter School in Bogalusa — another incredible community we're honored to serve. More details to come!
